Pick 'n' Mix Shop

In preparation for our degree show a group of us were asked to come up with an idea for a shop to take place within Uni. While brainstorming ideas the name Pick 'n' Mix came up and we all agreed that that would be a good way of involving the customers more in the transaction and creating more of a fun, workshop-like atmosphere.

I started off by making this 'logo' playing with the idea of an ampersand as a symbol and then thinking of other symbols that in some way represent what the shop is about.

We came up the idea of having red and white as our colour scheme and using a variety of stripes as our branding.

From there I made some example flyers and poster designs trying to combine all of the visual elements that we discussed.

We managed to arrange with the Council for the stall to take place on the Norwich Market on the weekend of Mother's Day and so came up with the idea of people being able to create their own Mother's Day cards from rubber stamps of student's artwork.

We held a workshop to generate the artwork for the stamps and cards and then edited down all the designs to the ones we wanted to take forward.

These designs were then cut onto rubber stamps and the hairstyles were Risographed onto cards.

Clutter City

I took part in the Clutter City in the Norwich Arts Centre. I had prints of my work for the UEA collaboration, screen prints from my Heart of Darkness project and about my hatred of coffee, cactus postcards and a handmade Zine of my film photos for sale.

Here are a few photos of the event (taken by Charlotte Reeve)
